Charity crafts, raising money for 5 schools in informal settlements in Nairobi, Kenya.
Hope For Excel creates a variety of vibrant and colourful handmade crafts, with all profits being directed towards registered UK charity, Porridge and Rice. PaR support 5 schools in Nairobi provide food for students, payment of staff, provision of educational resources, and delivery of essential lessons and information about disease control, health and hygiene, women's rights, sex education, and other essential, relevant interventions.

MY VOLUNTEERING
Volunteering with Porridge and Rice
My name is Olivia, a 23 year old teacher from Bristol, UK. In the summer of 2019, I visited Kenya on a volunteering scheme with the charity Porridge and Rice. After this life changing trip, I have decided to dedicate my time to raising money for the school that changed my life; Excel Emmanuel School in Nairobi.

I spent 3 weeks volunteering with Excel; assisting in lessons, healthcare of students and provision of lunches. The trip changed my life, due to the incredible relationships I made with the teachers and students, and seeing the tremendous effort these people go through to provide the children of Ngando their valuable education.
